Betty of Grable breaks her maiden

Dec 24, 2018

Betty of Grable headed to Werribee on Christmas Eve with a good chance over 1420m and needed every metre to reign in the leader. Jockey Ben Thompson stretched her neck out on the post to win by the narrowest of margins, a short half head. Colin hopes to get her out to 2000m this prep. and says she saves all her energy as she is usually lying down asleep in her yard by 8am most days, maybe she is just catching up on her beauty sleep as most girls like to. Purchased at Karaka sales in 2017 by long standing owner Garry Cranny lets hope this is the first of many as she is by Champion sire Pins, the same sire as Lord Lodge Champion El Segundo. click link to hear Colin talking about Betty of Grable win Werribee 24-12-18 click link to hear jockey Ben Thompson talking about Betty of Grable win 24-12-18 click link to view race
