Absolutelycertain wins her 2yo maiden in style

Jul 30, 2014

The apt named filly Absolutelycertain (being by Not a Single Doubt) lived up to her name by winning her 2yo maiden over 1200m on the Geelong Synthetic track today. She was drawn wide and as her jockey Mark Pegus was unable to get closer to the fence he elected to travel to the front and she was not headed at all down the straight and ended going to the line strongly by almost 2 lengths in the fastest time of the day. The filly has taken her time learning how to get over her nerves so after her Sandown run Colin took her to the Geelong races just for a day out to get her used to the race day atmosphere. Her last two runs could be excused as when she ran at Sandown it was very loose with clods of turf hitting her so she copped a lot of kickback then at her next start on the Geelong Synthetic she was wide and didn't get going until she balanced up in the straight  but she put it all together today to give her owners a lovely bonus as it was a Super Vobis race. Hopefully she will go on this prep and continue her winning ways.
