Phantom Brew puts up a brave effort in the Werribee cup

Nov 20, 2014

Colin sent Phantom Brew to Werribee today for a start in the Werribee cup over 2000m. After beginning well Luke Nolen had him racing three wide before hitting the front at the 1600m. Outsider Elusive King circled the field and took up the front running with Nolen keeping Phantom Brew off the fence but still in the first 2-3 runners. On the turn into the straight he fought off SCHOCKEMOHLE then again at the top of the straight he was still full of running before being run down by Khutulun and then the favourite Cadillac Mountain sustained a long run and overcame them all to win well. Still going strong to the line he held on to third place at good odds. It was a great run by Phantom Brew after a long layoff. Colin will see how he pulls up before considering his next run.
